This site does not collect personal data through any form. The only thing processed is anonymous visitor statistics that help us understand how the site is used. The controller for this processing is Katrin Åkerlund, who you can reach on Instagram with any questions about how data is handled.

Who is responsible

Sunflowers for Gaza's Children is run as a personal initiative by Katrin Åkerlund in Ockelbo. Katrin is the data controller for the processing described here.

What data we process

The site has no forms for contact, newsletters, or donations, so we never collect names, email addresses, or other contact details directly. No login is required and we do not set any tracking cookies, meaning cookies that require consent.

What is processed is anonymous visitor statistics from Umami and Vercel Analytics: which pages are visited and interactions such as clicking Donate, opening a question in the FAQ, or which language is selected. Umami never stores your IP address; it is hashed immediately with a daily rotating value so no lasting identifier is created. Vercel Analytics only shows aggregated statistics and discards its temporary visit session after 24 hours. None of the data can be linked back to an individual person.

Who we share data with

To run the site and measure visitor statistics, we use two service providers as data processors: Vercel for hosting plus Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, and Umami for visitor statistics. Vercel is a US company, so technical data such as your IP address passes briefly through their infrastructure to deliver the page to you, the same as with any web host.

None of this data is stored by us in identifiable form. If you want to read more about how these providers handle data, you can find their own terms below.

Legal basis

Visitor statistics are processed on the basis of legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We need to understand which content helps the fundraiser and to keep the site working and fast, without building profiles of visitors or using the data for marketing.

When you leave to give a donation

The Donate button takes you to UNICEF Sweden's own fundraising platform. From that point, UNICEF Sweden is the data controller for any information you provide there, such as contact details and payment information. Read more in their privacy policy.

Your rights

Because the visitor statistics are anonymous and cannot be linked back to you as an individual, we are not able to look up, correct, or delete data about a specific visitor. There is no record tied to your identity to act on. You still always have the right to object to the processing in general and to turn to a supervisory authority, regardless of whether your data can be identified. If you have questions, you are welcome to reach out on Instagram.

If you want to file a complaint

If you believe your data is being processed incorrectly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
